From Rain to Tap
Earth Science Standard:
Students know the origin of the water used by their local communities.
In this lesson, students learn about Southern California's water sources and the various parts of the water delivery system. They will design water treatment strategies to remove contaminants from "wastewater".
How Does Water get to my faucet?
What happens to water after I flush the toilet?
How does a treatment plant clean my water?
Most of the rain in California falls in the north, so most of the rivers and lakes in California are in the north. In California, rainfall is uncertain from year to year. The population in California is getting larger, and 75% of the population is in the south.
